This is a spacious semi-detached house which is located at the top of the hill of Montgó and which has a superb view of the bay of Roses and the beach of Montgó. It is a very nice quiet place to rest, read, watch the scenery … The beautiful beach of Montgó, supermarket, bars and restaurants where there is entertainment is all at the bottom of the hill and to walk down there are about 253 steps. If not you can take the car). At the top of Montgo hill there is an old tower of the XVI century and the sea view from there it is almost 360º, it seems that you are in an island. The house is built on three levels, at the front there is marked parking place of the villa and behind it there is a small garden that slopes but that it is pretty and where there are pines. At street level there is a shower room (washing machine), lounge living room a very spacious new kitchen very well equipped (ceramic hob, oven, Dishwasher, microwave, two door refrigerator …) and a balcony with a magnificent view. Downstairs there is a bedroom with double bed and a second bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom and a terrace. Villa Service is a villa and apartment letting & sales agency based in a beautiful town called L’Escala on the Costa Brava . We have been established since 1986.
L’Escala is 50 kms from Girona aiport, 140 kms from Barcelona and 50 kms to French border and is one of the most interesting and picturesque places on the Costa Brava. The old town grew up around the fishing industry and L’Escala is world famous for its Anchovies. There is a daily fruit and vegetable market and a Sunday market along the promenade. An excellent modern Marina accommodates the fishing fleet as well as luxury yachts and motor cruisers. Within a few minutes there are many sandy beaches and the clear water is ideal for snorkelling & scuba diving.
In the area there are a whole range of other sporting facilities, including many Golf courses. A variety of bars and superb restaurants (many specialising in fish dishes) exist in the town and on the outskirts. Just outside the old town of L’Escala are the historic ruins of Ampuries. Once the centre of Roman colonisation in this area.
With a mild climate in winter and hot in summer, L'Escala is ideal for all kinds of outdoor and water sports. Running, biking, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, trekking ..(photo: Kayaking Costa Brava)
During the summer months it has a good selection of bars and restaurants with terraces facing the sea.Do not miss sardanas dancing on the old town beach all July and August on Wednesdays.
Culture and history info
One does not have to be particularly interested in history or even interested in archaeology to succumb to the charm of the excavations of Empúries. The excavations are less than two kilometres from L’Escala and can be reached by foot comfortably along the beach promenade."(Source: CapCreus OnLine: The Ruins of Empuries)
